Home Care Aide provides household management activities to enable patients in independence at home. Assists patient with self-administered medications and emotional supports. Being a Home Care Aide typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or a manager. Additionally, Home Care Aide may require CPR certified. The Home Care Aide possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Home Health Aide responsibilities include :
- Bathing assistance and hygiene
- Walking and mobility assistance
- Transfer and posture positioning
- Continence and toileting care
- Oral hygiene
- Other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will have :
- Previous caregiving service experience (preferred)
- A passion for caregiving and a desire to help others
- Empathy, patience, kindness and respect
- Ability to carry out direction, both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively manage the demands of the job
- Must meet State requirements for Home Health Aide training program and competency
