    RESPONSIBILITIES

    ·         Assures that all necessary facility repairs are performed as soon as possible  

    ·         Receives appropriate vendor bids for needed repair                                     

    ·         Monitors all service vendor contracts while at facility                                   

    ·         Submits all changes for needed repairs when received                                                 

    ·         Orders and receives all supplies needed for repairs within the facility           

    ·         Assures compliance with all Federal, State, and Joint Commission of Accreditation rules and regulations governing physical plant management

    ·         Performs minor physical plant repairs and/or replacement as needed           

    ·         Provides Quality Assurance Studies. Monitors and evaluates same             

    ·         Assures total fiscal accountability for the Maintenance Department                      

    ·         Submits invoices for repairs, contractual agreements, and supplies according to facility policy

    ·         Monitors needed supplies and orders accordingly                             

    ·         Reports to Administrator any problem areas within the Maintenance Department regarding financial or vendor issues

    ·         Maintains all required documentation and logs according to facility policy and regulatory agencies

    ·         Assures compliance with facility fire and evaluation policy and procedure   

    ·         Assures chairperson position on Fire Committee                                            

    ·         Maintain accurate and current fire documentation

    ·         Monitors equipment usage and repairs daily and logs accordingly                                                          

    ·         Monitors resident personal equipment for Federal, State and Joint Commission

    ·         Interviews all prospective employees                                                                                  

    ·         Provides in-service education as needed to staff                                

    ·         Participates in orientation of all new employees within his/her responsibility

    ·         Provides positive or corrective action as needed                                            

    ·         Acts as a role model to maintenance staff

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    ·         High School graduate or equivalent required

    ·         Ability to follow directions

    ·         Ability to perform job duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision

    ·         Previous long-term care experience preferred
