Hospice Supervisor jobs in Kennewick, WA

Hospice Supervisor manages the resources, operations, and staff of hospice care programs. Works with families and patients to develop optimal care plans. Being a Hospice Supervisor coordinates the delivery of a patient/family assessment process and care plan development. Oversees interdisciplinary teams of medical doctors, nursing staff, and other care providers inside and outside the facility. Additionally, Hospice Supervisor maintains an up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations of federal, state, and regulatory bodies relative to hospice care. May require a bachelor's degree in nursing, social work or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Hospice Supervisor manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Hospice Supervisor typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Licensed PracticalNurse (LPN) in Hospice is responsible for providing quality patient care and performing technical skilled care in the patient's home.

    • Performs skilled nursing services under the supervision of a staff RN on a daily basis.
    • Administers prescribed medications and treatments as permitted by State regulations on an as needed basis.
    • Assists the physician and/or staff RN in performing specialized procedures on an as needed basis.
    • Assists the patient with activities of daily living and encourages appropriate self-care on a daily basis.
    • Reports to the patient's physician and other appropriate personnel regarding pertinent changes in the patient's condition on an as needed basis.
    • Performs complex wound care if in-service is documented for specific procedure on a daily or as needed basis.
    • Receives and follows physician orders within realm of practice for an LPN and within the standards of hospice practice but may not alter the plan of care on a daily basis.

    Formal Education: Associate Degree or certification equivalent

    License Requirements
    • Unrestricted licensure in state of practice.

    • Current CPR certification required.

    • Current drivers license and vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
