Hospice Supervisor manages the resources, operations, and staff of hospice care programs. Works with families and patients to develop optimal care plans. Being a Hospice Supervisor coordinates the delivery of a patient/family assessment process and care plan development. Oversees interdisciplinary teams of medical doctors, nursing staff, and other care providers inside and outside the facility. Additionally, Hospice Supervisor maintains an up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations of federal, state, and regulatory bodies relative to hospice care. May require a bachelor's degree in nursing, social work or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Hospice Supervisor manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Hospice Supervisor typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. The Hospice Aide is a paraprofessional member of the interdisciplinary group who works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, and performs various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient's personal needs and to promote comfort. The Hospice Aide is responsible for observing the patient, reporting these observations and documenting observations and care performed. The Hospice Aide will be assigned in a manner that promotes quality, continuity and safety of a patient's care. You must be available daytime hours Monday - Friday (within 6 AM - 5 PM).
