Hospice Supervisor manages the resources, operations, and staff of hospice care programs. Works with families and patients to develop optimal care plans. Being a Hospice Supervisor coordinates the delivery of a patient/family assessment process and care plan development. Oversees interdisciplinary teams of medical doctors, nursing staff, and other care providers inside and outside the facility. Additionally, Hospice Supervisor maintains an up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations of federal, state, and regulatory bodies relative to hospice care. May require a bachelor's degree in nursing, social work or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Hospice Supervisor manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Hospice Supervisor typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Responsibilities

    • Supervision of PCAs and Aides
    • Recruitment and Retention of Aide Staff
    • Maintenance of client censure as it relates to good client satisfaction
    • Day to day operations of PersonAl Care and Respite Care Department

    Ensure that you as well as employees hired to take care of clients exhibit the following:

    • Ensure clients receive their medication on time
    • Support clients who can’t move on their own
    • Help clients dress, bathe, eat etc.
    • Assist clients with physical therapy exercises
    • Cook meals according to the customer’s restrictions
    • Help customers with their shopping
    • Do necessary housekeeping to maintain a clean environment
    • Provide emotional support
    • Inform physicians or supervisors about uncommon events
    • Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
    • Ensure aides complete documentation timely
    • Ensure aides are assigned and scheduled properly to client
    • Fill in when aide is unavailable
