Hotel Manager Assistant is responsible for supporting the Hotel Manager with daily hotel operations and services. Responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction, responds to complaints, and ensures hotel profitability. Being a Hotel Manager Assistant tends to all facets of hotel operations in the absence of the Hotel Manager. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Hotel Manager Assistant typically reports to a manager. The Hotel Manager Assistant manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Hotel Manager Assistant typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • Duties

    • Serves as an assistant to the Hotel Manager with responsibility for a lodging property having 100 to 600 rooms, or for remote sites, 49 rooms or more.
    • Assists with the Management of the Hotel by meeting or exceeding planned objectives and executing planning functions that meet guest expectations through high quality standards.
    • Manages in accordance with supervisory directives, Army Lodging Standards, Regulatory Guidance to include those regarding internal controls. Assist management of maintenance, operating costs to determine the most efficient, economical procedures.
    • Establishes operational policy in all areas of the facility. Effects changes in policies and procedures, and provides guidance, direction and control of hotel operations to achieve program objectives.
    • Assists with the development and execution of the five-year capital expenditure budget, and annual operating budget as a function of requirements balanced against available cash flows.
    • Supervises assigned staff.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Must have progressive work experience that demonstrates the ability and skill to perform the duties described above to include supervisory, business or hotel management work experience.
    2. Documented experience must have been equivalent in complexity and difficulty to the next lower grade/level.
    3. Must have excellent organizational skills; highly skilled in written and verbal communication.
    4. Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and other software as required.

    HIGHLY PREFERRED CRITERIA:
    Preferred are those candidates who possess educational degree and of the following: (certificate and/or educational degree upload is required)
    1. Two-year Hospitality related associate degree and work experience in the field of Hospitality Management Or
    2. Two-year of Supervisory experience in Hotel Management Or
    3. One-year of Supervisory experience in Hotel Management and one of the following: Certification as a Departmental Manager, as CHS, Certified Hospitality Supervisor; CRDE, Certified Rooms Division Executive; or CLM, Certified Lodging Manager.
    b. Completion of two (2) Army Lodging Professional Development Management courses.

    PCS Costs
    • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
    Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials
    • This is a pay-banded position.
    • Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
    • Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.

    • Incentives will not be paid.
