Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our finance team. As an Assistant Controller, you will play a key role in managing the financial operations of our organization. You will work closely with the Area Controller and other team members to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the accounting department.
• Review the work of the Night Audit Staff, Income Auditor, Payroll/General Cashier, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
• Verify the coding of accounts payable invoices.
• Review status of accounts receivables on a regular basis.
• Prepare hotel weekly payroll cost report and review the result with all department managers.
• Communicate with other department heads to resolve any concerns or issues.
• Prepare all journal entries for closing each accounting period. Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis and Credit Card accounts on a daily basis to ensure that we received all monies owed.
• Assist in inventory counts each month and quarter as needed.
• Prepare and file all taxes as required by state, county and local laws and regulations.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
• Lead an efficient and organized accounting department.
• Audit the General Cashier Vault on a regular basis (at least once a month).
• Assist the Area controller in any audits conducted by internal, external or government auditors.
• Perform any and all other jobs assigned by the Area Controller and the Management staff of the Hotel.

Job Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree is required or 3 years Hotels experience with supervision skills in the Accounting Department. Must be an organized self-starter, innovative and have strong oral and written communication skills. Attention to detail and follow through is a must. Must have thorough knowledge of accounting and computer operations and must be comfortable creating and submitting financial reports to owners. Must be able to analyze and resolve issues that come up with regard to all aspects accounting and finance.

*Due to hospitality business demand, the employee may be required to work varying schedule for month end.
