Group Sales Manager

  • Titan Hotel Group is a growing hotel management company and we are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Group Sales Manager at our Connecticut hotels.

    Primary Objective of Position:

    Responsible for booking all social groups and/or meetings from start to finish, assist the sales team in the overall sales effort of the hotel to achieve optimal occupancy and use, maximizing revenue and meeting/exceeding hotel profit objectives.

    Essential Functions:

    • Book all social groups and meeting functions for the property.
    • Proactive Selling – learning about the potential clients coming to the area and working hard to gain the business.
    • Prospecting – solicit profitable new and repeat business from potential and existing accounts.
    • Event coordination (remote) – with both the clients and other departments.
    • Follow up – on all groups and events that have taken place with a 48-hour period.
    • Help achieve group revenue goals given on a quarterly basis that are coinciding with the annual budget.
    • Answering phones; processing letters, proposals and contracts accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Maintain filing, tracking system and other office procedures.
    • Participate in sales blitzes if available.
    • Attend inhouse meetings as needed – weekly sales meeting (approx. 2hrs).
    • Keep the Sales Team and General Managers promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance.
    • Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established Company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
    • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
    • Attend Company sponsored functions (Titan Leadership Meetings)
    • Dial in to Revenue Management strategy calls, if available.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    Education: A high school diploma or equivalent education/experience.
    Experience: Two full years of employment within the hospitality industry. Knowledge of Fosse, MARSHA and STS are encouraged.
    Skills and Abilities: Requires knowledge of Sales/Hospitality profession. Requires ability to make decisions and determine a course of action quickly.

    • Must possess communication skills to negotiate, convince, sell and influence other managerial personnel and clients.
    • Must be able to work with and understand basic accounting and arithmetic functions.
    • Requires ability to investigate and analyze current activities or information and make logical conclusions and recommendations.
    • Must work well independently.
