Job Overview:
As the General Manager of SpringHill Suites by Marriott, you will oversee all aspects of hotel operations to ensure exceptional guest experiences, maximize revenue, and maintain high standards of quality and service. Reporting to the regional management team, you will lead a dedicated staff to achieve operational excellence and drive profitability while upholding the Marriott brand standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Management:
- Provide effective leadership to all hotel departments, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department heads and other staff members.
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve financial goals, enhance guest satisfaction, and maintain brand standards.
2. Guest Satisfaction:
- Ensure that guest satisfaction is consistently maintained at the highest levels through attentive service and prompt resolution of guest concerns.
- Regularly review guest feedback and implement improvement initiatives as needed.
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional service and guest interactions.
3. Operations Management:
- Oversee all operational functions of the hotel, including front desk operations, housekeeping, maintenance, sales, and food and beverage services.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, including revenue management, budgeting, and cost control.
- Implement and enforce Marriott policies and procedures to ensure compliance with brand standards and local regulations.
4. Sales and Marketing:
- Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to drive revenue growth and maximize occupancy rates.
- Build relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, and other key stakeholders to generate business opportunities.
- Participate in local community events and initiatives to promote the hotel and enhance its reputation.
5. Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to ensure cleanliness, safety, and adherence to quality standards.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs and coordinate repairs and renovations as necessary.
- Address any issues or deficiencies promptly to maintain the hotel's reputation for excellence.
6. Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage the annual operating budget, ensuring that expenses are controlled and revenue targets are met or exceeded.
- Monitor financial performance by regularly analyzing key performance indicators and financial reports.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement while maintaining the quality of services and facilities.
7. Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including health and safety standards, employment laws, and licensing requirements.
- Implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential liabilities and safeguard the hotel's and its stakeholders' interests.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for hotel operations, finances, and personnel matters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in hotel management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of hotel operations, including front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and sales.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to drive revenue growth, manage costs, and achieve profitability targets.
- Familiarity with Marriott brand standards and operating procedures preferred.
- Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
