We are actively seeking a Sales professional to join our winning teams in Somerset. The positions are located in the Somerset, NJ market at our award-winning Fairfield by Marriott hotels. We are seeking an entry level Sales Manager with a skillset that is conducive to the Social, Military, Education, Religious, Fraternal, Entertainment and Tour & Travel markets, in addition to Corporate Sales. The right candidates can develop and solicit business from all markets to ensure the necessary advance bookings needed for a successful and profitable operation for the hotel. They are able manage accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and to solicit past and new business to ensure all revenue goals (i.e., room nights, ADR, REVPAR, Food & Beverage and Room Rental, etc.) are achieved or exceeded.
Some responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
* Driving revenues in all market segments. This includes groups and events and standalone banquet functions such as Memorial Luncheons, Family and Class Reunions, Corporate Travelers, Corporate Groups etc.
* Exceeding customers' expectations with great knowledge, and genuine service.
* Developing and maintaining exceptional relationships.
* Prospecting for new business by utilizing, telephone solicitations, outside calls, the Internet, newspapers and magazines (print and online), creating a referral network, social platforms, etc.
* Qualifying internal leads and turning inquiries into contracted groups and events.
* Being a team player to promote a positive atmosphere for our associates while keeping the highest of standards in place.
* Conduct property site inspections. Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the Hotel, both orally and in written form to previous, current and potential clients.
* Handle accounts details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented. Coordinate various departments’ participation in servicing accounts.
* Travel locally to conduct outside calls, promote the Hotel and review competition reader boards to develop leads. Travel out of town to solicit business. Represent Hotel at trade shows as determined by leadership team, including setting up exhibits, which involves bending, stooping, lifting and reaching overhead.
* Working varying schedules depending on the business needs of the Hotel (evenings, weekends, holidays).
* Providing input on marketing strategies & action plans to gain maximum exposure in the market.
* Assisting in the creation and execution of an annual Sales & Marketing plan, SMART Action Plans, and Hit List.
* Recommending pricing that shows tremendous value to our guests while maintaining profitability margins.
* Accurate and timeliness of reporting (weekly plans, action plans, Hit Lists, results, production, etc.)
