House Supervisor jobs in Gainesville, FL

Xavier House Unlimited, Inc. is seeking a well-rounded individual to fill the role of house parent supervisor for a foster group home for high-intelligence teens. Applicants must have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education or another degree directly related to work with at-risk teens. Previous experience working directly with at-risk youth is required. Previous foster care system or residential program work is preferred.

The role of House Parent supervisor requires strong but flexible leadership skills, patience, empathy and a strong willingness to learn to adapt to the needs of the residents we serve as well as the staff who assist in their care. Providing compassionate care for spirited and determined young individuals is a task suited for those who view it as a vocational calling and thrive on the challenges it presents.

We will hold a group interview April 22nd at 6pm.

The position entails working 40 day shifts hours and 1 overnight (sleeping) shift per week.

Compensation for these positions ranges from $51,000 to 56,000 annually.

Qualifications

• Age 25 or older
• Bachelor's degree in social work, juvenile justice, psychology or other related field required
• Prior experience in a related field, such as childcare, social work, counseling, or education required
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Pass a Level II criminal background check and drug test

Responsibilities

• Participate in activities and field trips that enrich the minds and abilities of the residents including speech/debate programs, field trips, chess club, education enrichment, life skills / independent living support activities, college and skilled trade readiness activities.
• Oversee record management and client files.
• Ensure each resident's care is compliant with their case plan needs
• Ensure medical, dental, court and extra-curricular activity appointments are coordinated and attended
• Manage staff schedules and staffing levels
• Conduct supervisory reviews of staff
• Manage needs of household members during crises and emergencies
• On-call support 10 weeks per year

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
