Job Title: Housekeeping Supervisor Reports To: Facilities Director

The Skaneateles Community Center / Arch Amenities Group, the world's leading spa, fitness and leisure firm, is seeking a Housekeeper Supervisor. The Housekeeper Supervisor will also perform various functions to keep the Community Center and its environment safe, clean, attractive, and comfortable to members and guests. Interacts positively and professionally with all staff, members, guests and prospects while monitoring club cleanliness and safety at all times.
General Functions:
Under the direction of the Facilities Director, the Housekeeping Supervisor will lead the team in maintaining safety, cleanliness and attractiveness of the SCC buildings and grounds.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of two years' experience supervising staff
- Minimum of three years janitorial experience in a large facility
- Certified Pool Operator (within 6 months)
- Understanding of safety standards, customer satisfaction and complaint resolution.
- Ability to work without supervision.
- Communicates well with assigned staff, co-workers, members and vendors.
- Must have and maintain a driver's license free from substance related infractions.
Work Environment:
- The work environment is both in and out of doors. When indoors the environment is temperature controlled with normal to moderate noise levels. When working outside the environment is subject to weather extremes, subject to moderate to loud noise levels and subject to insects.
Responsibilities:
- Schedules, coordinates, assigns and instructs custodial staff in completing cleaning/maintenance tasks. Assures that work is done to quality standards.
- Recruits, hires, trains, develops, and directs staff.
- Assures staff receives training appropriate for position including safety training on the use of equipment, departmental policies and standards as well as organizational policies.
- Determines/trains on the type of chemicals to be used and gives MDS training on each.
- Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
- Participates with staff on completion of tasks.
- Responsible for ensureing the cleanliness of common areas, fitness equipment, windows, walls, blinds, shades, doors, chairs, tables, cleans restrooms and locker rooms including showers, partitions, toilets, urinals, sinks, counters, lockers , and removal of garbage.
- Replaces ceiling tiles and bulbs; cleans vents.
- Assures that grounds, sidewalks, steps, walkways and parking lots are free from debris, snow and ice; shovels snow, applies ice melt, mows lawns.
- Assists with set up and cleaning of rooms for special events including carrying and lifting chairs and tables.
- Flexible availability a must based on business needs.
- Attends required meetings.
- Attends and completes required training.
- Provides training in Blood Borne Pathogen exposure control methods.
- Answer immediately to request from members, guests, and other departments
- Cleaning all locker rooms
- Cleaning all fitness floors and the group exercise studio
- Maintaining a safe environment through correct implementation of safety policies and procedures
- Load cart with supplies such as linens and move it to the required area
- Enter guest rooms as needed by adhering to proper procedures and ensure they are vacant
- Replace used amenities in guest rooms
- Take away, room service items, dirty linen, and trash
- Perform check on all room appliances to ensure they are in good working condition
- Adjust furniture, desk items, and appliances when necessary
- Dust furnishings and walls and remove marks from them
- Carry out floor care duties in club, hallway and guest rooms, and vacuum carpets
- Adhere to all safety, security, and company procedures and policies
- Provide immediate report of any safety hazards, injuries, maintenance problem, or accidents to the supervisor
- Successfully complete training and certification programs in safety
- Ensure flammable materials are properly stored
- Keep uniform clean and make sure to appear professional always
- Keep proprietary information confidential
- Ensure company standards are followed in welcoming and acknowledging all members/guests
- Expect service needs of members/guests and provide them even before called upon to do so
- Provide assistance to members/guests with disabilities
- Genuinely appreciate and thank members/guests for their visit
- Apply professional language in communicating with members/guests and co-workers
- Provide support to team to achieve common goals
- Maintain quality standards and expectations
- Without assistance, carry, place, move, or lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds; with assistance for items beyond 25 pounds.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Lift and carry up to 45 lbs
- Ability to Sit, Squat, Stand, Walk, Kneeling, Bending/Neck Twist, Twisting Neck/Waist, Balancing, Pulling, Pushing and Stacking
- Basic cleaning knowledge
- Flexible, positive attitude and physically capable of doing the job
