    Reports To: Vice President of Finance & Operations Work Schedule: Full-Time

    Rate of pay: $65,000 - $75,000 D.O.E.

    Summary Job Description:
    The Director of Security/Housing/Maintenance is responsible for the security and maintenance needs of the College and the functioning of the student dormitories (residential houses located off-campus). The Director will supervise a maintenance staff and resident assistants (for the dorms). Applicant must have experience and knowledge regarding basic repairs and maintenance as well as security systems and procedures. Hours are flexible and may include early morning, evening, and weekend hours as needed. The Director reports to the Vice President of Finance and Operations.

    Location:
    The position is located on the campus of Little Priest Tribal College (LPTC) in Winnebago, Nebraska. This position will require some travel, primarily within the Sioux City/Thurston County area. Remote option is NOT available.

    Work Schedule:
    This is a full-time position scheduled for 40 or more hours. General work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. This position may involve working earlier and later hours during the week and weekend hours as needed.

    Core Function Duties/Responsibilities: General
    Oversee day-to-day operations of the department, including scheduling of staff.
    Hire and train department staff.
    Submit work orders (requisitions) related to department operations.
    Assist with department budget estimates and project costs.
    Formulate and track the department’s Annual Operating Plan.

    Core Function Duties/Responsibilities: Security
    Oversee, plan, and coordinate safety and security operations.
    Respond quickly to security alerts generated by the building security systems.
    Evaluate fire, safety, and security risks and recommend solutions.
    Review, revise, and implement fire prevention, safety, and security policies and procedures.
    Serve as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act and prepare the Annual Campus Security (Clery) Report.
    Plan and coordinate security coverage for all College events.
    Conduct and/or supervise periodic security checks of campus facilities, including the dormitories.
    Monitor security equipment and cameras.
    Monitor all arming and disarming of building alarms.
    Respond to emergencies on College property.

    Core Function Duties/Responsibilities: Maintenance
    Oversee maintenance and repairs of facilities, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
    Oversee maintenance and repairs of the fleet of College vehicles.
    Coordinate and supervise cleaning and janitorial services conducted by staff.
    Locate and contact project vendors (plumbers, electricians, HVAC, etc.) as necessary and supervise their work.

    Core Function Duties/Responsibilities: Housing
    Oversee security and maintenance of the two dormitory facilities, including repairs, snow removal, and lawn mowing.
    Supervise the two resident assistants.
    Approve (with VP of Finance and Operations) student admissions to the dormitories.

    Required Skills/Abilities:
    Knowledge of fire prevention, safety, and security operations.
    Knowledge of building systems such as plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
    Ability to identify safety issues and determine when repairs are needed.
    Capable of completing basic repairs and using various power and hand tools.
    Good management and supervisory skills.
    Good verbal and written communication skills.
    Strong problem-solving skills.
    Moderate proficiency with Microsoft Word
    Must have a motor vehicle operator’s license and an acceptable MVR.

    Physical Requirements:
    Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
    Ability to perform repairs when needed.
    Ability to travel throughout facilities to diagnose building issues, plan repairs or maintenance and conduct safety inspections.

    Education and Experience Required:
    High school diploma or equivalent required.
    At least six (6) years of relevant experience required, demonstrating increasing responsibilities.

    Education and Experience Preferred:
    Diplomas or certificates in relevant trades. Bachelors’ degree preferred.
    Experience working in tribal organizations in Native American communities or for a Tribal College or University.
