Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Housing Manager to oversee the operations of our housing programs. The Housing Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of our housing facilities, as well as providing support and assistance to residents. This is a key role in our organization, requiring strong leadership skills, knowledge of housing regulations, and the ability to work with diverse populations.
Duties:
- Manage all aspects of housing programs, including tenant selection, lease enforcement, and maintenance coordination
- Conduct initial assessments and interviews with potential residents
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with LIHTC, Fair Housing regulations, and other applicable laws
- Provide crisis intervention and support services to residents in need
- Coordinate with external agencies and service providers to ensure access to necessary resources for residents
- Conduct regular inspections of housing units to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to housing programs
- Oversee rent collection processes and address any delinquencies or issues promptly
- Provide addiction counseling referrals and support services as needed
Requirements:
- Degree in Social Work or related field preferred, but not required
- Strong knowledge of LIHTC, Fair Housing regulations, Section 8, and other relevant housing programs
- Experience in crisis management and intervention techniques
- Familiarity with Yardi or similar property management software
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Skills:
- Motivational interviewing techniques
- Experience in addiction counseling or related field
