The Housing Choice Voucher Specialist will assist in the functions related to occupancy for all housing choice and project-based voucher programs. They are expected to be an active participant in the agency’s mission, vision, and values. They assist in providing consistent, fair, and quality services to the agency’s internal and external constituents, demonstrate enthusiasm, initiative, and flexibility in assignments and maintain positive working relationships with all agency personnel.

The positions duties include:

• Maintain and distribute waiting lists.
• Review all applications for all housing programs.
• Process and verify all applications.
• Prepare briefing packets for execution
• Process move-ins
• Assume case management role.
• Responsible for portability clients according to appropriate procedures.
• Maintains both physical and computer records for the life cycle of the participant.
• Responsible for semi-monthly submissions of 50058 to HUDs PIC System and other HUD reporting as required and assigned.
• Verify and schedule the inspections that are to be completed in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. .
• Prefer three (3) years of experience in information and referral, coordination, social service, or related field including customer service fields.
• Must possess a Valid Driver’s License during employment.
• Understanding of low-income clientele.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all assignments as required.
• Outgoing and friendly both in person and over the phone
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Great computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite products, in particular Word, Outlook and Excel
