Spartanburg Housing currently has an opening for a full-time Family Self-Sufficiency Coordinator.
Overview:
The primary purpose of this position is to plan, coordinate, and implement a variety of programs related to the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program. The incumbent assists tenants with becoming self-sufficient and economically independent by determining the community's needs and providing useful resources and services. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for maintaining positive working relationships with local social service and provider organizations.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
1. Works closely with community organizations to foster relationships and opportunities for the residents in the program.
2. Plans, implements, and administers the FSS Program in accordance with Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations.
3. Interviews and determines eligibility of applicants for the FSS Program.
4. Assesses program participant needs and utilizes case management techniques to assist them with obtaining specialized assistance.
5. Administers and maintains program materials, reports and other records relative to the grant, such as psycho-social assessments, financial records, and activity reports.
6. Reviews case records to update and monitor client needs.
7. Represents the FSS Program on special boards, committees, workshops and training programs.
8. Prepares and submits accurate reports regarding program participation, goals, outcomes and other success indicators.
9. Administers data entry and manages escrow accounts to ensure participant engagement and financial accuracy.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, from an accredited college or university, in social work, gerontology, nursing, counseling, sociology, psychology, business administration, public administration or a related field is preferred. Minimum of three (3) years experience in social work, advocacy, public housing, HCV program, case management or an equivalent combination of college course work and higher education is required. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which, in the sole determination of Spartanburg Housing, provides the required knowledge and abilities, may be considered sufficient.
