Public Housing/ Section 8 Occupancy Technician

We have an opening for a dedicated, hard-working person to join our Occupancy team at The Housing Authority for LaSalle County.

The right candidate will possess skills in some or all of the following:

Knowledge and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

• Basic principals of math
• Automated word processing systems
• Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations applicable to the Housing Industry
• Automated data systems
• Interviewing practices relative to client integrity
• Modern office procedure, office equipment and computer applications related to the work

The right candidate will possess skills in some or all of the following:

• Review Applications and determine eligibility and preference status
• Complete the admissions verification process: deny and/ or finalize applicant file
• Determine affordability.
• Prepare initial admission documents
• Ensure all tenants participating in Public Housing are certified in a timely manner in accordance with the relevant program policies and program regulations regarding annual and interim certifications
• Respond to request for information, questions, and complaints in accordance with department policies
• Issue notices of denial and/or termination of assistance or tenancy
• Respond to the processing of all information in a confidential and professional manner at all times
• Prioritize, coordinate and assure the accuracy of assigned work
• Attend staff meetings, professional seminars, training courses as instructed
• Other duties as assigned

The right candidate will be adept with computers, have a professional appearance, be personally as well as professionally organized, a great communicator, a team player, and possess a "Can do" attitude. We need a person that has energy and initiative, has follow-through, will complete tasks and can work with minimal supervision.

We are offering Full Time employment, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM with excellent benefits.
