JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting in directing the university’s human resources functions with special emphasis on ensuring compliance with labor and employment laws and regulations, oversight of audits both internal and external, and employee development to include training on human resource regulatory matters, supervisory and leadership training.
MAJOR DUTIES
Advises employees regarding human resources issues, including employment, classification and compensation, performance, discipline, and other related issues.
Researches, develops, produces and disseminates human resources training programs and other important communications for faculty and staff.
Works closely with human resources staff to ensure compliance in all areas of the department.
Coordinates the work of a branch campus human resources office as assigned.
Oversees, creates, and updates in keeping with regulatory changes, all department policies and employee handbook.
Actively participates in new hire orientation and provides Benefit Coordinator with opportunities to improve the program.
Serves as the HR resources on branch campuses by being visible on each campus at least once per month.
Provides oversight of the timely and accurate completion of required government reporting such as 1095’s etc.
Completes a variety of required reports.
Maintains files and records to include all required HR regulatory postings on bulletin boards on each campus.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Must be able to maintain regular attendance.
Resolves personnel-related issues in compliance with policies and procedures. Conducts investigations of employee relations matters as required to include Title IX investigations.
Develops and processes all OESC unemployment claim responses and represents the University in all OESC claim hearings.
Ability to travel as required to fulfill the requirement of the position – up to 25%.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Human Resources Director assigns work in terms of department goals and objectives. The supervisor reviews work through conferences, reports and observation of department activities.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
The work consists of varied human resources management duties. Strict regulations and guidelines contribute to the complexity of the position.
The purpose of this position is to assist in directing the university’s human resources operations. Success in this position contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of those operations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a master’s degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
Knowledge and experience with employment regulations and laws.
Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions, to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years experience or service.
Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Annual salary $59,700.00 with excellent benefits, including generous leave time.
