    Employment Status: Full-Time

    Compensation: Minimum $20.19/hr, commensurate with experience.

    SUMMARY

    While upholding the Star Valley Health mission, vision and values the objective of this position is to perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization's human resource department, while maintaining a work environment that fosters compassion, respect, and dignity while attracting and retaining exceptional individuals. Within the human resource team this member should promote loyalty and job satisfaction on the part of the employees, maximize employee productivity, reduce employee turnover and minimize company exposure to legal and regulatory challenges through the creation and enforcement of training as well as consistent policies and procedures. This is an “at will” position.

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
    • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
    • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
    • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
    • Provides clerical support to the HR department.
    • May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks in a timely and accurate manner while ensuring federal, state and SV Health laws, policies and procedures are followed
    • Acts as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
    • Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
    • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
    • Function as an employee liaison including coaching, counseling, advancement opportunities, performance evaluations, workers compensation, EAP assistance, payroll and benefits 
    • Assist in recruitment efforts for all nonexempt and exempt personnel, temporary employees and students; coordinate new employee orientations, and exit interviews.
    • Aid in development and execute of programs through the human resource department: employee appreciation, payroll, benefits, wellness, SV Health policies and procedures
    • Assist with various research projects and/or special projects with regards to employee relations
    • Actively promote and personally observe safety and security to ensure a positive safe work environment
    • Other duties as assigned or needs arise

    Requirements

    Abilities & Skills:    

    • Excellent professional oral and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically, Excel. 
    • Strong multi-tasking skills with the ease of changing direction upon need and request.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
    • Problem solving skill: strong ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and gather and analyze information skillfully.
    • Fundamental knowledge of labor laws, human resource practices and procedures
    • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, communicate effectively, and demonstrate sensitivity to clients, visitors and staff.
    • Comply with HIPAA and other federal, state and local regulations as well as maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in client and staff matters
    • Constant sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, bending and reaching with periodical standing throughout the work day

    Experience & Education:

    • Associates Degree in Human Resource Management or combination of education and experience preferred.
    • Prior related office and payroll experience preferred.
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
