The Town of Waterford is looking for an energetic, dedicated and experienced Human Resources Assistant to join the Human Resources Department.
Purpose of Position:
Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources/or designee performs work of a confidential, complex and responsible nature in any of the following areas: employee benefits, retirement, employee relations, employee records, recruitment, data collection, wage classification, employee programs, employee relations, training and communication. Performs work within district, state and federal statutes, regulations and policies for the Board of Education and Town employees.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to use a personal computer with database, spreadsheet and word-processing software. Knowledge of or ability to learn personal legal terminology and insurance terminology. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and public. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Education & Training:
The skills and knowledge would generally be acquired with a Bachelor’s Degree and three years related experience and/or training. A combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the responsibilities of this position may be considered in lieu of the stated educational and experience requirements. The position requires strong analytical and interpersonal skills. Working knowledge in a unionized environment preferred.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year
