  • Position Description
    The HR Generalist will have a broad knowledge of human resources functions, from hiring to onboarding and from employee compensation to evaluation. They will undertake a wide range of HR tasks, like organizing trainings, administering employee benefits and leaves and assisting with crafting HR policies. They will be responsible for using Human Resources Information Systems to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential. And act as the main point of contact for employees’ queries on HR-related topics. The goal is to ensure the HR department’s operations are running smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization as a whole. This role will support Lumbee Tribe Holdings, Inc and its subsidiaries.

    Responsibilities

    • Contribute to budge development and operational expenditures related to HR functions/requirements
    • ​​​​​Conduct employee onboarding/offboarding; originate, organize training & development initiatives
    • Maintain employee files and records in compliance to record retention policies and requirements
    • Support efforts to enhance job satisfaction of employees by providing strategy recommendations to senior leadership and leading initiatives to enhance teamwork among employees
    • Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies in line with organizational objectives yet in line with state and/or federal laws
    • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as disciplinary, leaves, and resolve traditional and non-traditional personnel matters
    • Gather, analyze, and compare organizational HR performance metrics to industry standards and formulate goals and strategies to success
    • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace
    • Oversee tasks related performance management policies/practices
    • Organize new employee and annual performance reviews
    • Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes
    • Administer compensation and benefit plans
    • Ensure compliance with labor regulations
    • Performs other duties as assigned


    Education/Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
    • *An additional four years of experience may be used in lieu of a degree
    • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in an HR role
    • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
    • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
    • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems will be a plus
    • Excellent communication and people skills
    • Aptitude in problem-solving
    • Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach
    • Additional HR training will be a plus


    Certifications
    SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or related credentials required (or must be obtained within 6 months)

    Physical Requirements
    Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    Travel Requirements
    Travel is anticipated to be less than 10% within the Continental United States.
