Essex Meadows is seeking a hospitality focused HR Generalist to join our team!
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assists in coordination and recording of human resources processes including recruiting, hiring, transfers, promotions, terminations, leaves of absence, benefits, and more.
- Serve as a point of contact on day-to-day HR matters.
- Demonstrates attention to detail in filing and managing employee records with new hires, assignment changes, promotions, transfers, terminations, salary increases, and more.
- Monitor and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices.
- Verifies, tracks, and regularly audits for compliance of employee licenses, certifications, work permits, food handler’s cards, TB tests and other required documentation.
- Helps support the recruitment efforts with interviewing and/or other coordination for hiring; actively participates and ensures successful onboarding.
- Assist with Essex Meadow’s culture and values; promotes a highly engaged and productive work environment, where employees feel comfortable speaking up about issues; manages engagement initiatives.
- Manages the implementation, interpretation and administration of established HR policies and programs; assists in keeping employees informed of HR policies by answering - and researching as needed policy-based questions and coordinating with enterprise HR as appropriate; counsels with and coaches’ employees and management on HR policy adherence matters.
- Administers employee benefits.
- Processes terminations and conducts exit interviews as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate required. Bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
- Three to five years administrative experience, preferably in HR or a related field.
- Must be proficient with MS Office 365, HRIS systems, and other office equipment.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail including the ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines.
- Must maintain high levels of discretion and confidentiality.
- Ability to use judgement in making decisions.
- Ability to provide thoughtful, progressive, and strategic guidance.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to initiated follow-through as needed to assist others.
- SHRM-CP or PHR preferred.
