Human Resources Generalist / Coordinator

  • Responsibilities

    The Human Resources Generalist / Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the Human Resources Department, which includes applicant and new hire administration, recruiting for vacant positions, managing general employee orientations, maintaining all personnel records and files, responding to correspondence, and other HR related duties.  The Human Resources Generalist / Coordinator may assist in organizing employee activities and provide coordination of employee and staff development in-service training.  Remains compliant with applicable state, federal, and licensing requirements, as well as other duties as assigned.

     

    Recruitment:

    • Administers the Applicant Tracking system, including job requisitions, status changes and hiring of applicants.
    • Posts open job positions internally and externally on various websites.
    • Communicates with applicants regarding job offers or declinations in applicant tracking system, completes offer letters, and administers new hire paperwork.
    • Initiates drug screening process & TB testing, and requests and tracks background screenings, Child Abuse Clearances, FBI fingerprinting, and Child Abuse and Neglect Certificate trainings.
    • Tracks all newly hired prospects and hires on tracking spreadsheet.

    New Employee Orientation:

    • Coordinates all New Employee Orientations with managers/trainers, including agendas, dates, training materials and employee badges.
    • Tracks new employee paperwork and follows up with managers/trainers and employees until completed.
    • Assist in maintaining orientation binders, PowerPoints, post tests, updates as needed.

    On-Boarding:

    • New hire processing of information into HRIS database.
    • Coordinates with Managers to ensure that Preceptor paperwork is completed and returned.
    • Ensures that all new hires have all of the required paperwork completed within State, agency/surveyor and the Joint Commission guidelines.
    • Assist at times tracking new hires through the probationary period.
    • Creates/compiles new employees files.

    Competency/Training:

    • Communicates with management regarding employees out of compliance with required trainings and competencies.

    HR Administration:

    • Assists department with filing employee paperwork in a timely manner.
    • Assists coworkers with HR related initiatives including but not limited to HealthStream trainings/competencies, employee benefits enrollment and employee surveys.
    • Responds to employee inquiries with required timeframes.
    • Track and monitor FBI clearances for all active Hospital employees and contractors.
    • Completes file audits on as needed basis, including assisting in processing terminated employee files.
    • Participates in and completes other similar job duties as assigned.

     


    Qualifications

     QUALIFICATIONS

     

    • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a fast-paced Human Resources department or a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field from an accredited college or university.
    • Knowledgeable about Human Resources-related state and federal laws and regulations, especially in a healthcare environment, is preferred.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • Comfortable working in various windows-based software programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HR System Software, Applicant Tracking Software and other similar computer programs.
    • Ability to deal with multiple priorities in an environment with regulatory deadlines.
