Human Resources Manager develops human resources policies and programs and directs the staff in managing and implementing programs that support employee engagement, productivity, and company objectives. Manages key HR functions, including recruiting, employee/labor relations, health and safety, compensation, benefits, training, diversity, payroll, and employee records. Being a Human Resources Manager develops and delivers internal staff communications. Evaluates, selects, and manages relationships with vendors to provide supplemental HR processes and services. Additionally, Human Resources Manager maintains employee records of pay, benefits, accidents, performance, and other activities and files reporting required to comply with labor laws and regulations. Collaborates with leadership on special projects. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Human Resources Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Responsible for actively integrating the business strategy with people management practices.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
KEY QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Management or related field from an accredited school or university.
Three years exempt-level experience in human resources management, with a working knowledge of the functional areas of Human Resources including, but not limited to employment law, compensation, employee benefits, recruitment, organizational planning, HRIS, employee relations, and training/development.
Proven ability to navigate ambiguity within a complex, dynamic, and rapidly changing business environment
Proven ability to seamlessly transition between strategic thinking and tactical execution
Proven ability to prioritize the most impactful work amidst multiple competing priorities
Prior HRIS database experience is a plus
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience with Microsoft suite of products
Ability to maintain confidentiality or sensitive information
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP or SCP Certification strongly preferred
Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
