Human Resources Manager develops human resources policies and programs and directs the staff in managing and implementing programs that support employee engagement, productivity, and company objectives. Manages key HR functions, including recruiting, employee/labor relations, health and safety, compensation, benefits, training, diversity, payroll, and employee records. Being a Human Resources Manager develops and delivers internal staff communications. Evaluates, selects, and manages relationships with vendors to provide supplemental HR processes and services. Additionally, Human Resources Manager maintains employee records of pay, benefits, accidents, performance, and other activities and files reporting required to comply with labor laws and regulations. Collaborates with leadership on special projects. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Human Resources Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Human Resources Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     This role manages the employee life-cycle, beginning with recruitment and ending with employee separation. This includes onboarding, payroll and benefits, unemployment, Worker’s Comp, ADA and CT FMLA. The HROP develops and leads human resources practices and objectives in staff training, performance management, and employee relations and policy that support a collaborative workforce. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for general office and operations management, including ordering supplies, and overseeing vendor support such as the IT service provider, office equipment rentals, and general contractors. The incumbent will also provide administrative support to the Executive Director (ED) as requested.

    Qualifications:

    • Three to five years Human Resources experience required; preferably in a residential program or nonprofit.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate professionally and effectively, with all staff members.
    • Candidate must be able to manage confidential information and understand the needs of the business to support the cultivation of a positive, inclusive culture.
    • In-depth knowledge of current HR principles, best practices and regulations required.
    • SHRM or other professional certification is welcome.
    • Strong computer skills a must, especially Microsoft Office 365. Experience with time management software, including Paychex, and Indeed.com, would be a plus.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
