Human Resources Supervisor administers human resources policies and programs and directs the human resources staff in managing and implementing programs that support employee productivity and company objectives. Provides day-to-day oversight of various human resources functions critical to the organization, including recruiting, employee/labor relations, health and safety, compensation, benefits, training, diversity, employee engagement, payroll, and employee records. Being a Human Resources Supervisor supervises and trains staff that provides operational and administrative support for recruiting, onboarding, and other hr functions and programs. Develops consistent and standard procedures to process employment, attendance, and other records and to ensure accuracy. Additionally, Human Resources Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Human Resources Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Human Resources Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Leads the implementation and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals for the plant
    • Ensures the daily tasks and duties of the department are accomplished
    • Help team members resolve wide variety of issues, such as, investigations and complaints.
    • Oversees the accuracy of departmental documents, making necessary changes and corrections, while maintaining documentation as changes occu
    • Participates in implementing department goals, objectives, and systems
    • Assists to establish departmental measurements, supporting the accomplishment of the company's strategic goals.
    • Provides leadership and guidance to plant Human Resources Generalists/Coordinators. Assists with their professional growth and development.
    • Leads cross-facility Human Resources Generalist/Coordinator meetings and committees
    • Maintain and report out on Operations driven Human Resources Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    • Maintains employee-related databases. Prepares and analyzes reports necessary to conduct the functions of the department and company. Prepares periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested
    • Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs
    • Coach, assist and advise Managers and Supervisors with difficult situations, identify alternative solutions to ensure consistent application of corrective action of company policies and standards of conduct.
    • Fully utilizes internal Human Resources software to improve department’s processes and procedures
    • Champion of Human Resources & Operations Lean and continuous improvement projects.
    • Recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-team member relationship and promote a high level of team member morale and motivation
    • Participates on the Safety Committee
    • Supports the implementation of the facility safety and health programs, including COVID-19 policies and procedures
    • Administers salary disability, unemployment claims and points per the contract.
    • Ensure legal compliance of Federal, State, Legal and Company regulations and reporting requirements
    • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, or other union issues.
    • Assist in administration, interpretation, and negotiation of Union Contract.
    • Participates in company-wide committees, which includes wellness, persity, culture, training, environmental health and safety, sustainability, and other activities
    • Creates recruitment plans and evaluation standards in accordance with HR methodologies and labor laws Conduct and coordinate all recruiting efforts for open professional positions and work with the staffing agency to staff associate positions based on business needs. This includes scheduling pre-employment physicals, proctor testing, interviewing, conducting reference checks, background checks and new hire salary orientation/induction.
    • Conduct new hire orientations and administer the on boarding process and training for new operations staff and hourly associates.
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    REQUIRED SKILLS

    • 5 to 7 years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist or manager in a UAW facility
    • Bachelors Degree in HR or Similar
