The City of Largo is seeking an experienced and dedicated Human Resources Director to lead our HR team in supporting the mission and goals while continuing to be the community of Choice in Tampa Bay.

The Human Resources Director will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and programs to attract, retain, and develop a talented and diverse workforce. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.

Education and Experience:

• Master’s Degree in Human Resources or Public Administration, or a closely related field, and five (5) years of human resource experience in the public sector or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• SHRM or HRCI Certification preferred
• Valid Driver's License

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to apply knowledge of general laws, principles, and practices of personnel administration, risk management, labor relations, and administrative policies governing those programs, including leading the collective bargaining process
• Extensive knowledge of municipal governmental functions
• Knowledge of modern trends and practices in Human Resources administration, organizational development, and change management
• Knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives that will promote a more equitable and inclusive workplace
• Ability to develop long-term human resources strategies
• Ability to proficiently assess and report the quality and efficiency of team members' productivity while ensuring continued alignment with organizational objectives
• Ability to write and present clear, concise reports, memorandum, directives, speeches, and letters
• Ability to collaborate and maintain effective working relationships with officials, department directors, team members, the public, and staff
• Demonstrated ability to listen and consider input on issues; being flexible and forward-thinking regarding resolution of issues
• Demonstrated ability to lead; identifying and executing appropriate action relative to operational/organizational situations or circumstances presented

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $114,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
