Human Resources Supervisor administers human resources policies and programs and directs the human resources staff in managing and implementing programs that support employee productivity and company objectives. Provides day-to-day oversight of various human resources functions critical to the organization, including recruiting, employee/labor relations, health and safety, compensation, benefits, training, diversity, employee engagement, payroll, and employee records. Being a Human Resources Supervisor supervises and trains staff that provides operational and administrative support for recruiting, onboarding, and other hr functions and programs. Develops consistent and standard procedures to process employment, attendance, and other records and to ensure accuracy. Additionally, Human Resources Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Human Resources Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions.     Location:

    Crown is building a brand new manufacturing plant in Effingham, South Carolina. This state of the art facility will produce various size food cans for one of South Carolina's leading Food producers. We are in the process of assembling a dynamic team of individuals. This is your opportunity to join Crown's global organization and we are looking for a Human Resources Supervisor.

    Position Overview:

    The Human Resources Supervisor will direct the Human Resources activities to ensure the facility meets all state, local and federal requirements while complying with Crown policies and procedures.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Human Resources Supervisor responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:

    • Perform as a partner along with the rest of the plant management team. Act as a liaison between the plant floor management and the Plant Manager with responsibility for all aspects of human resources in a high-speed manufacturing environment
    • Provides hands-on employee relations and support to employees of Crown. Coordinate employee communications and meetings to keep employees informed.
    • Strong presence on the manufacturing floor interacting with employees on all shifts, responding to employees issues/concerns in support of a positive employee relations’ environment
    • Employee relations issues may include but are not limited to; resolving conflicts, implementing disciplinary procedures, developing and rolling out improvement plans, investigating and resolving harassment claims and implementing required employee actions.
    • Responsible for all areas of talent acquisition. This would include sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, background screening and reference checks
    • Responsible for orientation/onboarding program for the employees
    • Documenting all appropriate investigations and maintaining proper files at the plant location
    • Performance management to include leadership of employee appraisal processes, development and corrective action programs
    • Evaluate the training needs of the facility and along with Corporate HR team develop/design, roll-out and conduct training on a variety of training topics that will benefit the location
    • Coordination of medical coverage and questions with Corporate Insurance
    • Coordination of Workers Comp and other related leave issues
    • HRIS system administration including payroll issues, employee data input, daily attendance, and other related areas
    • Maintenance of employee files and records
    • Managing the Purchasing duties of the plant and collaborating with the Effingham team to ensure timely and accurate ordering of all pertinent materials for the plant.
    • Process Payroll for the hourly employees of the plant
    • Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications:

    In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources/Business or a related discipline required.
    • 2 to 5 years in an HR role
    • Working knowledge of all local, state and federal laws and regulations
      • Ability to work off hours at times to support employees on all shifts
      • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

    Preferred Requirements



    • AS400 experience a plus
    • Manufacturing experience

    Physical Requirements

    • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
    • The associate may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

    Working Conditions

    • Generally works in an office setting but will be required to spend time each day inside a plant environment.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic.
    • The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
    • The noise level is frequently loud.
