Human Resources Supervisor administers human resources policies and programs and directs the human resources staff in managing and implementing programs that support employee productivity and company objectives. Provides day-to-day oversight of various human resources functions critical to the organization, including recruiting, employee/labor relations, health and safety, compensation, benefits, training, diversity, employee engagement, payroll, and employee records. Being a Human Resources Supervisor supervises and trains staff that provides operational and administrative support for recruiting, onboarding, and other hr functions and programs. Develops consistent and standard procedures to process employment, attendance, and other records and to ensure accuracy. Additionally, Human Resources Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Human Resources Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions.     General Purpose:

    Assist with the implementation and administration of human resources programs or policies. Is responsible for day-to-day administration of, but not limited to, recruiting and staffing, coordination of compensation and benefits programs, training and development, employee relations, and affirmative action/equal employment opportunity compliance. Complete personnel transactions and maintain associated records. Develop and maintain effective working relationships and provide excellent customer service when addressing employee and leadership team questions and inquiries. Perform work under general supervision. Handle moderately complex issues and problems and refer more complex issues to HR Manager.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assist with management of the recruitment process for non-exempt positions. Coordinate requisitions, internal and external job postings, applicant/candidate correspondence, interview schedules, job descriptions, references, offer letters, drug screens and background checks, requisition closeout, and new employee set-up and on-boarding
    • Work with hiring managers to recruit and select candidates. Review resumes, design competency-based interview questions, conduct phone screens, assist with in-person interviews. Coach managers on the interview process
    • Assist with the onboarding process to ensure new employees have an excellent experience of the organization and are set up for short and long-term success
    • Process bi-weekly payroll for employees. Understand and apply wage and labor laws to payroll. Maintain payroll records and respond to payroll-related inquiries
    • Provide employee records administrative support. Process employee status change transactions
    • Assist in preparing the required EEO/AAP reporting documents. Generate ad hoc reports as requested
    • Ensure employees receive appropriate information on benefits enrollment, assist in coordinating the onsite wellness initiatives, and field employee benefits questions. Administer required paperwork and coordinate FMLA and STD programs
    • Work with employees on LOA processes and procedures, manage employee leaves including tracking and return- to-work dates, and communicate leave of absence status to HR Manager on a weekly basis
    • Coordinate employee communication regarding human resources programs and employee announcements to ensure consistent messaging to the organization; ensure electronic communication boards are updated as needed with local and corporate information
    • Serve as the Value and Integrity (VI) liaison, ensure corporate initiatives are reaching the areas of responsibility, coordinate with the location leadership team and provide guidance and resources to implement initiatives and activities
    • Assist with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives
    • Provide advice, feedback, and resources to managers and employees regarding human resources policies, programs, and procedures to ensure compliance and support with company guidelines, employment law, and company culture. Apply understanding of key legal precedents, policies, and practices to protect the interest of Dairy Farmers of America and our employees
    • Serve as company change agent and adopt new practices, policies, and procedures. Model way of working within and in support of our core values. Maintain highest level of confidentiality related to organizational changes and other sensitive information related to HR job responsibilities
    • Participate in special projects in the areas of performance management, on-boarding, compensation and training and development
    • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for leadership and division
    • Conduct research on HR best practices. Assist in process development and implementation for a variety of human resources best practices

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
    • 2 to 5 years of progressive generalist Human Resources experience
    • Experience with HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications
    • Certification and/or License - Human Resources certification preferred (e.g., SHRM, HRCI)

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Working knowledge of Human Resources principles, concepts, and practices
    • Willing and able to work a schedule that supports a 24/7 operations team
    • Working knowledge and familiarity with federal, state, and local HR and Payroll requirements
    • Able to interpret and apply company policies
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, HRIS systems (ADP, Kronos, etc.)
    • Able to interact positively and work effectively with others (interpersonal skills)
    • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
    • Able to handle challenging or conflict situations with tact and professionalism
    • Able to maintain confidentiality of information
    • Able to multi-task and problem solve
    • Able to work with accuracy and attention to detail
    • Must be able to read, write and speak English
