Human Resources Supervisor administers human resources policies and programs and directs the human resources staff in managing and implementing programs that support employee productivity and company objectives. Provides day-to-day oversight of various human resources functions critical to the organization, including recruiting, employee/labor relations, health and safety, compensation, benefits, training, diversity, employee engagement, payroll, and employee records. Being a Human Resources Supervisor supervises and trains staff that provides operational and administrative support for recruiting, onboarding, and other hr functions and programs. Develops consistent and standard procedures to process employment, attendance, and other records and to ensure accuracy. Additionally, Human Resources Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Human Resources Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions.     This announcement will be used to fill a Transportation Technician Apprentice position in District 1, Santa or St. Maries, Idaho. The Transportation Technician Apprentice is a 3-5 year horizontal career path. Through on-the-job training, classroom training, achievement of team goals and agency goals, there will be opportunity to progress through a 3 Step program. After successful completion of each step, wages may increase as outlined below:

    • Starting wage: $ $19.05
    • Completion of Step One: $19.98
    • Completion of Step Two: $21.64
    • Completion of Step Three: $23.33 This training program has been state-approved for veteran's education benefits.

    Applicants that have a current Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) will be given preference. However, if selected candidate does not have a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL) they must obtain one within 60 days of hire. ITD will provide training to meet the Entry Level Driver Training requirements as well as licensing costs.

    This position could be assigned to the Santa or St. Maries shed. When on-call, a 45 minute response time to the assigned shed is prefered.

    Example of Duties

    • Employees serve an apprenticeship in which they receive on-the-job instruction, classroom training, or self-study courses
    • Perform entry-level technical highway maintenance and engineering work; performs related work as required
    • Operate a variety of power tools and light and heavy highway and construction equipment to maintain roadways, signs, bridges and other transportation facilities
    • Conduct routine inspections and field tests on construction and maintenance projects
    • Conduct sample and routine material testing
    • Perform entry-level traffic services activities such as striping and replacing and repairing traffic signs and posts
    • This work involves physically demanding tasks such as clearing brush and lifting and carrying heavy objects Work Environment
    • This work involves working in all types of weather conditions, under hazardous conditions, on congested highways, around operating equipment and in a noisy environment
    • Frequent travel to and from the work site with some overnight stay is required

    • Some positions require employees to work with chemicals and toxic materials and incumbents will be required to undergo periodic biologic testing and pass medical tests while employed in these positions Minimum Qualifications
    • Valid driver's license
    • Experience operating vehicles with manual transmissions Additional qualifications
    • Class A CDL with tanker endorsement required within 60 days of hire (training may be provided by ITD)
    • Position may be required to work irregular shifts, overtime, weekends and holidays
    • Pre-employment drug testing, and random drug and alcohol tests

    Essential Function:

    An essential function of this position is driving an ITD vehicle. Incumbents are required to successfully pass a driving record check to be considered for this position.

    Minimum Standards:

    Within the last three (3) years:

    • Leaving the scene of a personal injury accident
    • Four (4) moving violations
    • Failure to submit to a chemical test

    Within the last two (2) years:

    • Three (3) moving violations

    Within the last twelve (12) months:

    • Accumulation of six (6) points
    • Driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs
    • Two (2) moving violations

    ALCOHOL AND CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES TESTING PROGRAM INFORMATION

    The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is required to implement an Alcohol and Controlled Substance Program to comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR), Part 382. See Regulations and Policies at the following web site: .

    Please note: Employees are responsible to understand and comply with the Idaho Transportation Department's drug and alcohol procedures. A refusal to submit to the above testing requirements will result in ineligibility for the position due to the inability to perform the Commercial Motor Vehicle driving functions required.
