Human Resources Supervisor administers human resources policies and programs and directs the human resources staff in managing and implementing programs that support employee productivity and company objectives. Being a Human Resources Supervisor supervises and trains staff that provides operational and administrative support for recruiting, onboarding, and other hr functions and programs. Develops consistent and standard procedures to process employment, attendance, and other records and to ensure accuracy. Additionally, Human Resources Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Human Resources Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions.     Salary: $3,700.00 - $4,968.00 Monthly
    Positions with permanent duty stations in King County receive an additional 5% added to their monthly base salary. The salary listed in this announcement reflects the additional 5%.

    Responsibilities:
    Recruiting and Seasonal Hiring:

    • Work with fire staff with all aspects of seasonal firefighter hiring and onboarding of approximately 50 seasonal staff and additional temporary staff.
    • Assist the Human Resource Consultant with region recruiting needs.
    • Ensure completeness of all hiring documents, provide onboarding and employee orientation, and support hiring supervisors.

    Rule Interpretation and Consultation:

    • Provide information to staff about human resource and Agency rules, policies, regulations, union contracts, and procedures.
    • Assist other HR staff and region management with setting up meetings, note-taking, and collaboration on employee and performance management.

    Record Keeping:

    • Support the annual review process for all region employees. Including assisting supervisors with the documentation process and tracking all required documents for completeness.
    • Maintain personnel-related files and personnel action tracking. Including auditing and running reports.
    • Lead contact for the region's HR records retention, following statewide and agency records retention schedules.
    • Main point of contact for region staff service and retirement awards.

    Technical:

    • Data entry and daily use of human resource databases and organizational charting.
    • Issue and replace region key cards for building access, and employee badges.

    Required Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Four years of office experience including one year experience in a human resource or related setting or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
    • Proficient computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook with an aptitude for learning new software as needed.
    • Experience maintaining confidentiality and using discretion when handling sensitive information.
    • Experience entering and/or retrieving data from human resource databases or other computerized recordkeeping systems.
    • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and supporting an environment that honors diversity, equity, inclusion, and environmental justice practices.
    • Perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws, regulations and public records retention and requests are followed.
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to provide excellent customer service.
    • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $44,400.00 - $59,616.00 per year
