  • The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is seeking Direct Care Workers who are committed to building meaningful and encouraging relationships. As a Direct Care Worker, you will help provide individuals with the tools and guidance needed to improve their skills and reach their goals.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist and facilitate activities of daily living (ADLs) such as household maintenance, personal-care and hygiene, food shopping and preparation, budgeting, leisure activities and socialization skill development.
    • Provide ongoing support, guidance and role modeling and work with residents to improve their personal responsibility, social skills, community living skills and behavior.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Service Plan (ISP) objectives, coordination of services and crisis intervention. Attend review meetings and other related appointments. Monitor and document medication administration.
    • Communicate program participant’s progress, mental status, and any changes in daily notes.
    • Transport individuals to various appointments, work, and recreational activities.

    Requirements

    • Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply!
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Ability to assist individuals with developmental disabilities and/or limited mobility (such as lifting, transporting).
    • Ability to successfully complete trainings (such as CPR, FA, MAP).
