RECAP is seeking a dedicated and organized Human Services Coordinator to manage our Emergency Food Pantry and Advocacy services. This role involves planning, organizing, and leading our services, as well as managing volunteers and interns. The successful candidate will also assist other RECAP staff who work with our interns and volunteers. This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact in our community and help reduce hunger and malnutrition.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of RECAP’s Emergency Food Pantry, Advocacy, and Reception services.
• Directly supervise, guide, and support volunteers and interns.
• Coordinate, schedule, and evaluate volunteers for the emergency food program and reception.
• Attend staff meetings and in-service training.
• Provide information on proper nutrition and food budgeting.
• Assist community groups in efforts to reduce hunger and malnutrition.
• Participate in fundraising activities.
• Solicit and track donations from corporations, foundations, and the community.
• Work with Case Managers to provide for clients’ immediate needs.
• Track and report on program activities using Excel and other tools.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent experience in the human services field.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of Social Services system.
• Awareness and sensitivity of cultural and economic characteristics of Orange County’s low-income population.
• Knowledge of emergency food programs, nutrition, and safe food handling.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management and personnel scheduling skills.
• Good organizational skills, client service, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work accurately and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions.
• Flexibility, initiative, good judgment, and discretion.
• Marketing experience and a proven record of fundraising.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to lift 30-40 pounds with or without accommodations.
