At Agri Industries, Inc., we rely on our financial system to drive our business forward. The accounts payable (AP) department plays a key role in helping to manage cash and paying vendors and suppliers. We are searching for a skilled AP Specialist to join our Agri team to help process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The AP Specialist will have a daily, ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners.

OVERVIEW:

It is imperative this individual possess the ability to support the company to help optimize the financial transactions and the financial system. Help to strengthen and grow relationships with vendors and suppliers. This position requires the highest level of integrity and confidentiality. All national and local regulations must be adhered to.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Post business transactions, process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records
• Provide other support necessary to pay the obligations of the organization
• Maintain meticulous records of outstanding payables
• Ensure the accuracy of the organization's financial documents for payment, auditing, and tax purposes
• Gather and input all information required to set up vendors in system including, but not limited to, W-9 and COI
• Understand Sales and Use Tax and administer accordingly
• Protect business against unintentional overpayment
• Practice effect monitoring to ensure payments are made to vendors in a timely manner
• Prepare vouchers listing invoice number, date, item description, amounts and coding per accounting policies and procedures
• Verify invoices against purchase orders and ensure goods or services were received before issuing payments to vendors
• Prepare and process weekly check runs
• Generate purchase orders when necessary
• Obtain appropriate signature on checks
• Assist CFO as needed
• Reconcile Accounts Payable with general ledger
• Oversees bulk fuel ordering
• Oversees fuel cards
• Prepares IFTA Report
• Oversees and gathers information for the proper preparation of Form 1099

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Lives in Williston or the surrounding area. This position requires the individual to work out of the Agri Industries Williston office and is not a remote position
• Understanding of basic accounting, finance, and bookkeeping principles
• Excellent time management skills and detail orientation
• Absolute confidentiality
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in accounting software and Excel
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Associates Degree or at least a minimum of 5 years or more experience with accounts payable
• Strong mathematical skills and Excel skills
• Experience in accounting software and online platforms
