    Responsible for the daily operations and customer service responsibilities for recreation services and facilities.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


    Reporting relationships, work assignments, and work schedules may be subject to change in order to meet City needs or operational requirements. Attendance at work and the ability to get along with the public, supervisors, and co-workers are essential elements of this position. Other duties may be assigned.

              


    When Assigned Duties at the Wellness Desk

    • Welcomes customers and answers phones and emails.
    • Enters fitness classes into the registration system.
    • Ensures fitness classes operate effectively.
    • Basketball and lock checkouts.
    • Gymnasium and fitness floor walkthroughs and orientations.
    • Maintaining fitness equipment.
    • Organize fitness floor closets and equipment.
    • Setup pickle ball, badminton, and volleyball equipment at the designated times.
    • Report incidents and accidents on the fitness floor.
    • Light housekeeping that includes vacuuming, wiping equipment, and folding towels.
    • Basic bookkeeping, filing, and clerical duties.
    • Opening and closing duties for the facility depending on shifts.
    • Assists with staff trainings and development.
    • Supervises part time recreation workers at the wellness desk.
    •   Schedules classes in the Technogym software.          
    • Offers tutorials and trainings of the Technogym software.
    • Enters instructor, class, and other information into the Technogym software.
    • Assists with the planning and coordination of staff trainings and development.
    • Assists with part time recreation worker performance evaluations.
    • Performs a wide variety of other duties as assigned.


    QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Park and Recreation Administration or closely related field and and/or training in Parks and Recreation management, including supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics and the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.  Must also have the ability to perform basic budget management.

     

    REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Wellness Desk

    Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, the ability to become a certified First Responder by the American Red Cross and must pass a background security check.
