  • Position – Operations Coordinator Facility Name – Rapides Parish Coliseum Location – Alexandria, LA POSITION: Operations Coordinator DEPARTMENT: Operations REPORTS TO: Director of Operations FLSA STATUS: Salaried Exempt Summary ASM Global/Rapides Parish Coliseum, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for Operations Coordinator at ASM Global/Rapides Parish Coliseum in Alexandria, Louisiana. The Operations Coordinator will assist the Director of Operations with the daily activities required to run, maintain, and service the facility and/or the events by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors: Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare a weekly schedule and report of facility operations for Director of Operations. Due every Friday by 4:00 PM. Assist Director of Operations with the repair and maintenance of all facility equipment, including warehouse, exhibition hall, meeting rooms, and office regularly and as assigned. Coordinates the Operations activities with event departments and event related contractors to assure facility readiness and smooth operation of events. Assist Event Department as needed in securing show labor request. Manage the operation of all event set-up and tear down equipment; stages and platforms; basketball floor; goals and scorers tables; risers and railings; sound, lighting, scoreboard and intercom systems; chairs and tables; lobbies; dressing rooms and press rooms, etc. Implements and updates facility rules, regulations, policies, and procedures for Operation Personnel. Ensures that Operations Department receives pertinent information for the most effective use of the facility and staffing. Oversee the “conversions” of the arena as it pertains to converting the arena from rodeo to basketball to concert and other configurations as needed. Making sure conversions are done effectively and efficient. Assist in keeping accurate inventory of building tools, machinery, cleaning supplies and building equipment. Authorizes the request of equipment and supplies staying within budget guidelines. All purchases must have a purchase order and the appropriate signatures. Knows and ensures all laws, codes, ordinances, policies, procedures, Risk Management, safety precautions, rules/regulations and emergency procedures are followed. Investigates, analyzes and resolves operational problems and complaints. Develops and implements a storage plan for all excess and storable items which could include: excess seats, basketball floor, basketball goals, tools, machinery and other arena assets. Supervise arena operations employees, both full time and hourly, custodial personnel and oversee weekly projects. Work cooperatively with the Director of Operations on all construction, renovations and equipment changes and/or purchases. Supervise custodial training program to maintain an adequate supply of back-up custodians. Assist in the overall cleanliness of the inside and outside of the arena, equipment and mechanical areas. Assure cleanliness of spectator and public areas regularly. Serves as OCOD (Operations Coordinator on Duty) as required Directs and motivates subordinates in a manner conducive to full job performance and high morale Meet with operation staff to outline work that must be done for the day/week. Interviews vendor representatives and evaluates new products to stay informed on the effectiveness of new systems and operations. Prepares work schedules and assures adequate coverage for department and specific events while staying within budget guideline and procedures. Develops and conducts in-service training programs promoting cross-training; demonstrates setup, products, and safety methods and procedures to department employees (i.e., forklift training, safety) with the Human Resources department. Has knowledge of sense of timing as to what activities should be taking place within a time frame to accomplish necessary tasks to ensure a successful event. Has knowledge of the materials, methods and practices used in operations. Evaluates work procedures and facility wide operations and plans and develops improvements in consultation with Director of Operations. Communicates clearly and effectively both orally and in writing. Performs all other duties as assigned. Knowledge of various audio, sound reinforcement, video, and lighting systems and equipment as they pertain to live event production Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member Requires ability to work flexible and extended hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours Education and/or Experience Minimum of 2 years experience in Supervising or Managing in a similar facility Supervisory experience required Skills and Abilities Excellent organization skills Ability to prioritize and to handle multiple projects simultaneously Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff including management Ability to effectively supervise staff Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and must be able to learn Maintenance Manager Software program.
