Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the shipping and receiving functions of the VandalStore. This incumbent is in charge of all processes related to incoming and ongoing freight. In addition, this position provides customer service to our online and off-site customers through order fulfillment for the store. This position deals with mail orders, telephone orders, robot and web orders across all categories of the store. Specific duties and day-to-day operations include customer service, order fulfillment, shipping oversight and accurate record keeping.
Duties may include:
- Process incoming freight from the loading dock to the retail sales floor
- Organize and maintain the back room overstock and satellite warehouse facilities
- Process outgoing freight
- Oversee transfers of merchandise
- Manage the warehouse inventory
- Train, supervise and support temporary help employees in shipping and receiving functions
- Coordination of campus deliveries and movement of merchandise and equipment to satellite stores and remote site events
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Demonstrated experience with:
- Cash handling
- Working in a retail environment
- Processing incoming and outgoing freight
- Using computer software and applications for word processing, email, internet searches, and data organization
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience:
- Supervising employees and delegating tasks
- With organizational and inventory control/management
- Effectively communicate with management, staff, and vendors
- With computer freight processing software e. g. MBS
- Arranging for vehicle and building repairs
- Paying attention to detail
- Multitasking
- Maintaining confidentiality
- Familiarity with the University of Idaho campus
- Written and verbal communication skills
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Ability to carry, lift or otherwise move items weighing up to 75 pounds
- Ability to bend, stoop and work in awkward positions for several hours at a time
- Stand and walk continuously throughout the shift
