Position Summary: The role of the IT Administrator within the organization is to assume responsibility for all Information Technology Systems within the group. As the technical expert for the organization, responsibilities are to serve as the liaison between the business side of the organization and the technical side, identifying needs, communicating findings, and making recommendations, implementing solutions and providing constant maintenance, upkeep and effective security measures. The IT Administrator is a hands-on position that provides technology support and integration of all different platforms used by our organization by interacting and being the point of contact with programmers, suppliers and service providers to ensure that the department meets the requirements of the company to operate in an efficient, effective and secure manner.
Job Description:
- Manage and troubleshoot incoming IT support requests; including hardware, software, networking and peripheral devices.
- Administer users’ equipment by installing, configuring, and setting up computers (PC's), peripheral devices and software.
- Set up and manage domain users, OU permissions and account and network passwords. Create, change, and delete user accounts per request as necessary.
- Setup and manage security applications including enterprise AV, Backups and other software as well, following security by default best practices.
- Maintain inventory and operational capacity of workstations and devices.
- Maintain or install new hardware and perform software updates, system upgrades, patch installations software related problem resolution. Configure/add new services as necessary.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible security breach.
- Ensure daily backup operations are performed, making sure that all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
- Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.
- Provide Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues. On occasion when meeting deadlines this can occur after hours or on weekends.
- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
- Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
- Ability to handle constantly changing tasks and priorities, to be able to multitask effectively during busy times and to exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations is needed. Ability to work responsibly with or without supervision to be a positive, contributing member of a group.
- Knowledge to handle wireless communication needs in an administrative and warehouse environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Any function related to ERP and Line of Business support including but not limited to creating users, roles, and scheduled operations.
- Handle day-to-day IT operations and function of all IT assets, systems, and software including applications, network, storage, and devices.
- Conduct system updates, upgrades, and planned improvements. Plan and execute upgrades and necessary service interruptions to occur during non-business hours such as nights and weekends.
Qualifications, Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or Management Information Systems Preferred.
- Must have excellent working knowledge of computer hardware, software, network systems, storage, IT analytics and controls, disaster recovery, data and cyber security, phone systems, and cell phones.
- Must have ability to liaison with outside vendors to be point of contact for maintenance of IT Systems and Office Tools and Electronics.
- Must have strong customer service and interpersonal skills to interface effectively with all employee customers.
- Must be available outside of normal work hours to respond via remote access or in-person to potential issues. This is a shared requirement with third party providers.
- Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft 365-based environments
- Must have strong organizational and independent project management skills
- Detail and Competent Knowledge of all Information Management Systems: Email Services, Operating System Services, Servers and Software, VPN Solutions, Property Security and IT Security, Supply Chain Management, Quality Systems, Manufacturing Environment Experience and or related business processes and systems helpful and preferred.
- Firewall understanding and experience required.
- Minimum 2 Years Software Implementation experience
- IT support in manufacturing environment preferred
- A certification strongly preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work on your feet for extended period of time.
Ability to handle physical requirements in maintenance, set-up and repair of IT related hardware and physical infrastructure.
