Job Responsibilities: Manage the provisioning and de-provisioning of SAN resources. Maintain accurate and current documentation for systems, sites, and projects. Assist and provide secondary support for complex systems. Utilize monitoring tools and trouble-ticketing systems to document and coordinate scheduled and unscheduled outages. Support the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems. Enhance system operations and optimize resource utilization. Assist in system design and implementation, including architecture, disaster recovery planning, provisioning, software configurations, and installations. Gain in-depth understanding of critical system dataflows, identifying areas for enhancement. Contribute to the development of metrics that report system status. Ensure data compliance across critical infrastructure. Propose methods for improved efficiency through design, requirements, scripting, etc. Collaborate with the existing IT team to enhance end-to-end monitoring of health, status, and dataflow.
Required Skills/Experience/Education: Fundamental comprehension of Computer Networking Technology, TCP/IP, DNS, etc. Strong grasp of RAID and SAN concepts, including hands-on experience with Dell and HP SANs. Eagerness and openness to learning new concepts. Proficiency in Command Line Interfaces and comfortable navigation. Effective team player with the ability to work independently and follow through on assigned tasks. Creative and analytical approach to problem-solving. Experience with LINUX/UNIX and MS Windows storage. Familiarity with DAS, NAS, CIFS, and NFS protocols. Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications. Knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery concepts. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting technical information to engineers and diverse audiences. Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline (e.g., information systems, computer science, math, engineering) with at least 4 years of related experience in SAN systems management, or an equivalent combination of 4 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Expertise: Profound troubleshooting experience with IT systems. Recommendations aligned with industry best practices from NetApp, HP, and CommVault for SAN storage systems. Development of accurate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation. Support for escalation and communication of status to management and internal stakeholders. Proficiency in storage backup and restore operations. Execution of system monitoring and incident analysis. Regular system upgrades for both software and hardware, including performance tuning and scripting for procedure automation.
