Job Summary:

Responsible for tasks pertaining to Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, VMware, storage, server hardware, data protection and backup, security and compliance, Office 365, Intune and Microsoft Azure. Responds to alerts, resolving incidents, monitoring backup jobs, fulfilling requests, building servers, deploying patches, and remediating security vulnerabilities.

Essential Job Duties

• Support, troubleshoot, and provide resolution for server hardware and communication problems.
• Schedule upgrades and collaborate with engineers on network/system optimization.
• Monitor the ServiceNow queue and address incidents and requests.
• Respond to monitoring alerts and take corrective action as necessary.
• Maintain operating efficiency and stability, ensure the security and integrity of all systems and data, and
• respond to outages and other issues.
• Develop and enhance processes and technical documentation, create backup procedures, test plans, and
• reports.
• Administer and maintain security and compliance of operating systems.
• Restore files or systems by designing, writing, and implementing back-up procedures.
• Provide operational support for the organization's information systems and peripheral equipment such as
  application servers, database servers, web servers, and storage devices.
• Automate routine tasks using scripting and writing basic computer programs to address more complex
  systems software configuration and enhancement.
• Manage shared folders and DFS.
• Assume other duties as assigned. 

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3 years of related experience including experience in an environment of comparable size/complexity.
• Expert understanding of Windows Server and/or Linux Operating Systems.
• Expert understanding of DNS and DHCP.
• Experience using backup software such as Veeam.
• Microsoft or RHEL certifications

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment:

• Work is primarily sedentary: must be able to sit for extended periods of time and use a computer, keyboard, and mouse, frequently. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements) up to 20%.
