IT Capacity Planner, Sr. evaluates the organization's data processing and storage needs and develops long-term plans to meet business requirements. Implements policies for network storage system troubleshooting, updating and general maintenance. Being an IT Capacity Planner, Sr. documents problems and solutions and serves as the point of contact for network capacity related issues. Allocates storage space, plans for future projects or acquisitions, reviews hardware and software configurations and makes suggestions for appropriate storage or backup models. Additionally, IT Capacity Planner, Sr. may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager. To be an IT Capacity Planner, Sr. typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for developing and implementing production plans to maximize the use of the organization's resources and meet established production specifications and schedules. Monitors production activity and analyzes production data to ensure the flow of material meets production requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Prepares work orders for production or purchase requests based on production schedules; generates production schedules and prioritizes work orders to ensure production optimization.
- Adjusts schedules according to work order specifications, material, machines, equipment, and staffing.
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to forecast, plan, and facilitate on-time materials to the production line and avoid disruptions to production.
- Evaluates production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes and calculate machine and operator loads.
- Prepares documentation related to production sequences, transportation, staffing schedules, and purchase, maintenance, and repair orders as necessary.
- Requires in-depth knowledge and experience.
- Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions.
- Works independently; receives minimal guidance and acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
- Has wide latitude for independent judgement.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate tasks with co-workers in a work unit and/or project.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required.
5 to 7 years of experience required.
Working knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and costs preferred; knowledge of general manufacturing facility health and safety policies and procedures preferred.
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
