IT Capacity Planner, Sr. jobs in Huntsville, AL

IT Capacity Planner, Sr. evaluates the organization's data processing and storage needs and develops long-term plans to meet business requirements. Implements policies for network storage system troubleshooting, updating and general maintenance. Being an IT Capacity Planner, Sr. documents problems and solutions and serves as the point of contact for network capacity related issues. Allocates storage space, plans for future projects or acquisitions, reviews hardware and software configurations and makes suggestions for appropriate storage or backup models. Additionally, IT Capacity Planner, Sr. may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager. To be an IT Capacity Planner, Sr. typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Qualifications

    Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required: Education:Require Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with emphasis in Computer Science. Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of degree. Experience:Require five to eight years progressive experience in various applications. Additional skills/abilities:Proficiency in several computer languages as required by work environment. Detailed knowledge of various technical environments that support the development of software. Ability to effectively communicate with the user community. Ability to develop requests into logical and clear definitions to facilitate software development. Excellent writing skills and strong people skills relative to user interface. Ability to follow written and oral instructions and function with a minimal level of management interaction.
