SUMMARY

Mortenson is looking for a Contracts Manager who will be responsible for assisting operating groups to draft and negotiate construction contracts with owners, subcontractors, and suppliers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist project teams in the preparation and submission of pre-qualification documents 
• Assist in the drafting and negotiation of owner agreements 
• Assist in the award and negotiation of subcontract agreements and material purchase agreements 
• Assemble and track owner agreement and subcontract exhibits 
• Review bid proposals and owner agreements to identify significant provisions of interest in bid documents and contracts 
• Issue professional service agreements 
• Prepare confidentiality agreements and related documents 
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels 
• Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree 
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction contract or project management or in a non-construction corporate contracts department
• Solid understanding of the contracting process from negotiation through execution (alternatively, paralegal degree and experience with construction project transactions including owner agreements, subcontracts and material purchase agreements) 
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite 
• Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills 
• Strong teamwork orientation 
• Positive attitude and professional customer service skills 
• Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
