POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, social responsibility and help the organization grow and achieve overarching vision of strengthening community and advancing diversity, equity and inclusion. Manages accounting functions, including cash receipts, payroll and accounts payable. Administers approved accounting policies and procedures throughout the organization. Ensures preparation of complete and accurate monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Assists in the preparation of the operating budget.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Maintain the general ledger, business and financial records of the Association in a timely, accurate manner.
· Develop and maintain the necessary system of financial accounting, record keeping and reporting for adequate control, accountability, legal, and tax and audit purposes.
· Oversee the monthly close process, including recurring and adjusting journal entries, allocations.
· Ensure that all financials are stated on an accrual basis.
· Serve as a resource person to program personnel in all matters relating to accounting and the monthly close.
· Reconcile all bank accounts on a monthly basis.
· Prepare monthly custody statements.
· Maintain Fixed Assets database.
· Assist CFO in the annual budget, quarterly forecast and annual audit processes.
· Upon Request of CFO, prepare financial analysis and reports to assist the Association in strategic planning, debt management, cost studies, etc.
· Perform special projects as needed upon request by CFO, and/or other senior.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA or MBA preferred
· Minimum 10 Years professional experience in accounting, 5 years in a supervisory role
· Understanding of and experience in GAAP are required.
· Nonprofit experience preferred
· Knowledge of banks, banking systems and cash management.
· Knowledge of and expertise with computerized accounting systems.
· Ability to develop and use spreadsheets and standard business software systems.
· Detail oriented with the ability to provide accurate and timely information
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
