Lynker is supporting the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in providing comprehensive river and flood forecasts and warnings, for use by the public and emergency managers to protect life and property. This critical water intelligence also supports socio-economic decision-making for a sustained and enhanced economy.

We are seeking an IT Helpdesk Administrator to work on the team that provides technical support for the National Water Center in Tuscaloosa, AL. This includes integrated water prediction, forecasting the movement and presence of water throughout the nation in terms of quantity and availability, from summit to sea, treetop to bedrock, with the appropriate timeliness, resolution, reliability, accuracy, and quantified uncertainty required to inform risk-based water resource management decisions.

Responsibility:
The IT Helpdesk Adminstrator will provide excellent customer service and technical experience to end-users and support and maintain the IT office equipment, implement and execute on the modernization of critical IT system infrastructure supporting the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). This includes migrating, reporting on, managing and determining the needs to support the office infrastructure that supports the mission of the National Water Center.

Requirements

Skills Required:

• Strong Customer Service skills and ability to communicate frequently and effectively.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products and experience troubleshooting the application suite (Excel, Word, Exchange, Visio).
• Strong technical knowledge and experience supporting Microsoft operating systems
• Knowledge of industry best practices and standards for PC/LAN operations
• Excellent organization skills and documentation
• Skilled at administering the Windows operating system across hundreds of devices.
• System Administration experience
• Skilled at presenting new ideas to senior management

Experience Required:

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience supporting end-users for IT-related issues.
• Strong knowledge and experience supporting a Microsoft suite of products.
• Experience managing users and groups in Microsoft Active Directory
• Stong experience managing an ITSM such as ServiceNow
• Experience with enterprise tools for patching IT systems
• Experience supporting remote users
• Experience with managing an inventory of IT systems.
• Experience with imaging desktops/laptops
