Invio Automation’s Solutions division specializes in single station robotic cells, multi-station fabrication & assembly lines, bonding & welding technologies, vision systems, and packaging process. Application capabilities within our Solutions division include thermal bonding, web handling, force plotting, heat staking, high viscosity pumps, precision dispensing, impulse bag sealing, and needle bending. Invio Automation’s Technologies division includes highly differentiated Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) for heavyweight applications, turnkey assembly lines, welding automation, and custom lift-assist & secure tools for safety critical applications.
DESCRIPTION
A Procurement Manager is responsible for sourcing equipment, goods, and services, and managing vendor relationships for all major purchases. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, manage critical lead times, and find more profitable suppliers. A Procurement Manager must be professional, proactive, and positive when interacting with vendors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages all purchasing activities and establishes strategic purchasing processes and procedures.
- Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs
- Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power
- Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking
- Assess, manage and mitigate risks
- Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
- Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
- Expedite critical and/or late purchased components
- Active participant in a continuous improvement environment
- Partner with the Project Manager and Operations to ensure project/department milestones are met and adhering to approved budgets
- May be called upon to assist with special projects and assume responsibility for the development, administration, and promotion of specific projects, as required
Qualifications:
- Must have experience purchasing and sourcing fabricated and machined parts.
- Mush have experience selecting and qualifying vendors. More specifically machine shops and fabricated parts vendors.
- Must have basic knowledge of post machining finishing and coatings processes, and experience procuring fabricated parts that require such.
- Must have experience reviewing fabricated part drawings and determining appropriate vendor based upon part/drawing needs.
- Ability to work with engineering teams to define needs of complex fabricated parts and subsequently source from an appropriate vendor for fabrication.
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management
- Able to hold vendors accountable to meet pricing and delivery, i.e. not afraid of confrontation
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Interest in market dynamics along with business sense
- A knack for negotiation and networking
- Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures
- Solid judgment along with decision making skills
- Strong leadership capabilities
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good verbal and written skills
- Proven organizational skills
A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred; minimum of 5-10 years’ experience. 1-3 years supervisory experience preferred.
