    VulcanForms seeks a Senior Manager of Production Control & Logistics for our Devens, MA location. 

     

    Job Purpose 

    As the Senior Manager of Production Control & Logistics (PC&L) at VulcanForms,Devens, MA, you will manage production control and logistics at our VulcanOne site. You will own the overall strategy and planning across production, materials, capacity, warehouse management and logistics and work closely with each plant General Manager to ensure an efficient production workflow and on-time delivery. In this role, you will build and develop a team of highly skilled PC&L professionals located at each VulcanForms facility. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in production control, material management, demand and capacity planning and logistics.  This role requires expertise in PC&L in a research & development (R&D) and transition to production environment.  The Senior Manager of PC&L will design and implement a PC&L strategy that supports the current development work and scales to high volume production. 

     

     

     

    Key Accountabilities  

    • Lead the development of the PC&L planning process at VulcanOne site 
    • Implement systems to improve efficiency of production and logistics processes 
    • Ensure production systems are in place to meet company requirements 
    • Meet key company goals for operational performance including inventory turnover, on-time delivery, manufacturing cost reduction  
    • Own the planning and replenishment of all materials required for product delivery and machine builds across the organization. 
    • Ensure we have the right raw materials at all times to support production plan 
    • Revamp and implement warehousing and inventory control systems 
    • Manage the full integration between Warehouse and Production Control staff to support shop floor operations, and lead work order on-time starts 
    • Own the reporting and results on the production progress of customer deliverables  
    • Ensure delivery commitments to the internal and external customers  
    • Execute and monitor the planning and replenishment of all materials required for product delivery and machine builds. 
    • Analyze results of the MRP system along with system-generated part replenishment recommendations. 
    • Provide delivery commitments to the internal and external customers, including leadership. 
    • Lead daily meetings to collect status and escalate risk as needed. 
    • Work cross-functionally to expedite material shortages with Procurement, Receiving, Quality, and other production areas. 
    • Work with the Machine Build Team to help assemble the machines to ensure cross-functional alignment and timeliness. 
    • Assume responsibility for overall logistics between production and other departments such as manufacturing, quality control, and shipping. 

     

    Qualifications 

    • 5 years of manufacturing experience. 
    • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills. 
    • Experience in undergoing an ERP transition or deployment– Epicor preferred. 
    • Demonstrated expertise in production, material, demand and capacity planning, preferably in an R&D and high volume production setting 
    • Experience with logistics and warehouse management  
    • Proven track record of successfully leading change initiatives 
    • Ability to communicate at all levels to maintain relationships and cooperation in pursuing organizational goals 
    • Must be able to influence negotiate and resolve conflicts to reach consensus around common goals 
    • Ability to use and analyze information in order to establish priorities. 

     

    Preferred 

    • CPIM certification is a plus. 
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure. 
    • Experience within Machine Assembly and or Manufacturing environment. 
    • Logical and efficient, with strong attention to detail. 
    • Able to exercise independent judgment and take appropriate action. 
    • Strong sense of ownership. 
    • Team player with excellent communication skills. 
    • Excited about taking on new challenges in the metal additive manufacturing industry and working in a fast-paced startup environment.   
    • Self-motivated, hands-on, with a practical mindset, and capable of setting and reaching ambitious goals.
