Assistant Production Control ManagerPRIMARY DUTIES:
- Responsible for making sure company has a robust supply chain and that inventory is in place to support company goals for return on investment and on-time delivery performance.
- Review and maintenance of ERP (Plex), resolution of projected outages, identification and development of key suppliers, and coordination between purchasing agents, vendors, competitors, and customers.
- Implement and maintain a replenishment system for critical purchased materials.
- Develop and implement plans and systems to accommodate growth or retraction.
- Identify shortcomings of MRP and develop systems to improve.
- Work with Purchasing to identify situations for pricing agreements, including long term price agreements, to save or control material and service costs and implement those actions where possible.
- Maintaining supplier rating systems.
- Develop processes to reduce cost of components, packaging, and freight.
- Directs Material Analyst/Scheduler to:
- Check forecasted orders for accuracy and then change the supplier order status to firm once confirmed.
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve past due production components issue.
- Analyze customer demand to level load operations.
- Managing inventory with scheduling to ensure materials are available for production.
- Communicate with Logistics staff and operations supervisors to prevent customer short shipments.
- Oversees Inventory Control Group Leads to ensure timely, accurate, efficient inventory movement and transaction.
- Oversee Inventory Control Group Leads: Supervise material handlers, ensuring efficient material movement
- Ensure material handlers make timely, accurate inventory transactions.
- Oversee Receiving Clerk to ensure timely, accurate receipts.
- Review inventory for accuracy and implement and maintain systems to improve accuracy.
- Measure / monitor domestic and international inventory levels.
- Maintain / monitor inactive, obsolete and service inventory levels.
- Directs Master Production Scheduler to:
- Plan and prepare the Master Production Plan which will direct component purchases and production schedules.
- Prepare daily production schedule and distribute timely.
- Meet budgeted targets for finished goods and WIP inventory levels.
- Review customer demand, communicating volume and significant changes to the plant.
- Work in conjunction with production supervisors to resolve scheduling issues.
- Minimize excess and obsolete inventory related to buildouts and engineering changes.
- Oversee Customer Service Representatives to ensure customer releases are updated daily and that EDI, DDL and ASN’s are performed to meet customer requirements.
- Maintain customer relations and resolve customer complaints.
- Oversee Production Coordinator ensuring finished goods are packed timely meeting customer shipping requirements. As well as communicating all short shipments with management.
- All other duties required by management.
QUALIFICATIONS (including educational requirements):- A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or other associated business-related degree.
- 3 - 5 years operational experience in the Automotive or Manufacturing industry.
- 1 - 3 years Direct Report Management experience preferred.
- Strong analytical abilities.
- Strong organization skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for both internal and external customers.
- Plex ERP software knowledge is a plus.
- Must be able to use common office software systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint).
