  • Position Summary:
     
    • This procedure describes the basic functions, reporting relationships, authority, and responsibilities of the Production Control Clerk I at S&P USA.
    • The Job Description provides the performance criteria for the position. It also states the Job Requirements as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act.
    • The person occupying the position of Production Control Clerk I is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials by generating work orders. The Production Control Clerk I reviews and distributes production, work orders, and shipment schedules; confers with department supervisors to determine progress of work and completion dates; and compiling reports on progress of work, inventory levels, costs, and production problems.
     
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
     
    • Maintains a high level of accuracy on all data input to provide consistent workflow for the assembly lines.
    • Routes orders to specific areas for preparation to meet production schedules.
    • Examines worksheets for errors and makes corrections in systems, and monitors work processes for completeness, accuracy, and performance to standards and specifications.
    • Completes status reports, such as production progress, customer information, and materials usage and inventory.
    • Generates hard copy of work order, separates and routes to designated areas.
    • Reviews and edits work orders daily.
    • Print and release orders to production.
    • Converts description on work orders to part numbers used in assembly for the manufacturing of products.
    • Accurately enters inventory of materials and work orders into system to meet production demands.
    • Ability to understand workflow from conception of a work order to its ship date and how other departments are interlined within the work order.
    • Knowledge of Bill of Materials (BOMs).
    • Ability to forecast workloads.
    • Manage and maintain reports and graphs with the ability to translate the results.
    • Knowledge of the Configurator program.
    • Observe all company policies and procedures.
    • Must be able to work additional hours to support the organization’s needs.
    • Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Sr Planning Manager.
     
    Educational Requirements:
     
    • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and at least one (1) year of related experience.
    • Proficiency in the Windows environment required.
    • Ability to read and interpret English documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
     
    Mental Requirements:
     
    • Ability to communicate in English (read, write and speak) is required as the overwhelming majority of customers, vendors, co-workers, and suppliers communicate in this language.
    • Reasoning ability is required to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form and to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
    • Mathematical abilities to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s, as well as performing these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
     
    Physical Requirements:
     
    • The physical demands of the position are listed in accordance with the requirements of the ADA as:
    Standing – up to three fourths of the time.
    Walking – up to three fourths of the time.
    Sitting – up to one fourth of the time.
    Talking/Listening – up to three fourths of the time.
    Use of hands – up to three fourths of the time.
    Climb or Balance – up to one fourth of the time.
    Stoop or Kneel – up to one fourth of the time.
    Reach with arms – up to one half of the time.
    • Body movements, lifting and exerting force – 25 pounds.
    • The Senses necessary for the successful performance of this position are:
    Hearing – the ability to communicate effectively.
    Vision – the ability to record and prepare reports.
    • The ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as eye protection, back protection, ear protection, etc. as necessary or required.
    • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
    • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
     
    Environmental Conditions:
     
    The environmental conditions of the area in which the person shall perform his/her duties consist of ambient temperature variations, dust, fumes, and elevated noise levels found in a manufacturing environment in this geographical area.
    Reporting Relationships:
     
    The Production Control Clerk I is selected by, and reports directly to the Sr Planning Manager.
     
    Authority:
     
    The Production Control Clerk I has full operating authority to fulfill the responsibilities of the position as described in the Essential Duties and Responsibilities section of this Operating Procedure.
     
    Performance Criteria:
     
    • Perform each essential function listed in the Essential Duties and Responsibilities section satisfactorily.
    • All company policies and procedures are followed.
