REPORTS TO: Technology Infrastructure and Services Manager The IT Systems – Project Manager – will work to manage change, reduce cycle time for change, and oversee projects to ensure value is properly seen through to the classroom. This position will help service strategy and service design goals become realized in service operations for the District’s staff and students (IT Project Management)
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. A minimum of a two-year associate degree in computer technology or related field. 2. Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certificate desired. 3. Two to three years of project coordination experience, preferably in an information technology environment. 4. Experience with developing communication plans and familiarity with change management plans. 5. Experience with organizing and conducting project team meetings and facilitating discussions. 6. Ability to create documentation or training materials. 7. Experience with creating various types of reports, e.g. status and statistical reports. 8. Ability to prepare and deliver oral and written presentations; excellent verbal and written communication skills. 9. Excellent organization skills; ability to self-direct and effectively manage assignments. 10. Work experience in computer hardware and software support preferred. 11. Experience in installing and troubleshooting technology using Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and Chrome operating systems. 12. Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications in instructional and administrative environments preferred. 13. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Project Functions (90%): 1. Provides functional project support to areas in transition, collects and analyzes data, and prepares project materials 2. Participates in planning implementation tasks, coordinates efforts between departments. 3. Performs needs and outcomes assessments as needed 4. Assist in administering technical projects, undertakings, and initiatives; work with technical leads, sponsors, stakeholders, and administrative staff to make planning assumptions; assisting with identifying project scope, goals and deliverables, resources and timelines. 5. Assist with developing detailed plans and schedules for the scope of the project. 6. Assist the Procurement & Logistics Operations Manager with vendor selection and ordering of necessary materials for District IT projects. 7. Provide support by tracking milestones and completion of tasks and following-up on outstanding matters. 8. Assist with creating communication plans that detail how and when information will be shared with stakeholders, team members, etc. 9. Ensure vendor completion of project deliverables on time and on budget. 10. Evaluation and recommendation of vendor performance. 11. Support district improvement goals and implement strategies to accomplish those goals. 12. Assist with the design, recommendation, and oversight of computer networks. 13. Other duties as assigned. General Functions (10%): 14. Some systems work (depending on strengths) 15. Stay current in knowledge and trends of state-of-the-art technologies, data security, equipment, and communication system installation and troubleshooting. 16. Other duties as assigned.
